Demandware, Inc., the global leader in on-demand ecommerce, announced that Nine West Footwear Corporation, a division of Jones Apparel Group, Inc., has launched a new mobile storefront using Demandware's mobile commerce application. The Nine West mobile commerce site, NineWest.com/Mobile, is designed to meet the on-the-go shopping needs of the digitally connected shoe and accessory enthusiast who wants to learn about the latest trends and hottest looks of the season – or even make a purchase – from their mobile device.

Nine West is leveraging its existing Demandware eCommerce implementation to quickly and easily launch a feature-rich mobile commerce site. The single, unified environment between the mobile storefront and the ecommerce website will make it easy for Nine West merchants to manage the experiences of customers across digital channels.

Ron Offir, Nine West Group, president of eCommerce, said, "Our shoppers are beginning to rely on their mobile devices for more than just talking to their friends or sending text messages. By using Demandware's mobile commerce application we are delivering a full-featured, customizable mobile storefront that more readily meets the needs of our on-the-go customers. Working with Demandware gives us the functionality needed to address our customers' existing appetite for mobile shopping – and, at the same time, the opportunity to introduce new, exciting capabilities that will make their mobile shopping experience more interactive both now and in the future."

it is great that companies are really looking at how to use mobile technology. The iphone has changed peoples internet habits, and companies have been a bit slow to recognize this.
