TAGSYS, the leading provider of item-level RFID infrastructure, today announced the introduction of FiTS (Fashion Item Tracking System), its commercial off-the-shelf, end-to-end supply chain system for the apparel and fashion marketplaces.
Leveraging RFID technology to provide visibility from manufacturing, through the distribution center, and to the retail floor, the new system includes RFID technologies, materials, software and consulting services to satisfy the complete supply chain process.
The fashion/apparel industry struggles with supply chain challenges that can result in high costs and lost sales due to a lack of accurate inventory information, and a lack of automation and reliability in shipping and receiving operations. Without reliable and controllable processes, the time to process each item increases, resulting in higher distribution costs. In the store, manual receipt processes bog down the sales staff, while the lack of visibility makes it difficult to manage inventory and control shrink.
FiTS solves these problems by providing real-time visibility and automated, item-level inventory tracking. Existing TAGSYS fashion customers have realized an average 50% productivity improvement in the distribution center, 98% inventory accuracy, and a 20% reduction in processing costs per item, while improving sales by 7%.
"TAGSYS has listened to the fashion market for the past four years, and designed the FiTS system to improve the brand equity of our fashion customers," said TAGSYS CEO, Alain Fanet. "Our company has long history of developing total systems that are tailored to the unique needs of vertical markets. With FiTS, our customers receive a flexible, scalable solution that meets all of their tracking and visibility needs, all from a single source."
