Indian’s leading PC security vendor Quick Heal Technologies announced the launch of Quick Heal 2008 product line that includes Quick Heal Anti-Virus Plus 2008 and Quick Heal Total Security 2008.

The new generation of PC security solutions caters to individual users as well as small and medium business having Microsoft Windows as operating system.

This new 2008 product line is designed to protect the users against the latest on-line threats optimized scan engine for faster detections. The update mechanism and definition file formats are changed to support smaller and faster updates.

Quick Heal Anti-Virus Plus which was introduced last year for the first time by Quick Heal had received tremendous response as it catered the exact security needs of a common PC user. Quick Heal Antivirus Plus 2008 includes three-in-one protection that consists of AntiVirus, AntiSpyware and Firewall.

This combination of three products in one gives a necessary protection to all users who wish to have basic security installed in the system before going on the Internet. Quick Heal Antispyware blocks any spyware before it is installed in the PC.

Quick Heal Firewall prevents the PC being getting hacked or prevents it from internet based attacks. This year Quick Heal is introducing new module Quick Heal Anti-Rootkit to detect and remove rootkits from the system.

This is a powerful tool to scan and clean the systems for rootkits. Quick Heal Anti-Rootkit is not based on signature detection and detects any rootkit proactively by doing deep system scan by going behind all logical layers and sitting at kernel level where no rootkit can fool it.

Quick Heal Total Security 2008 which is enhanced version of Total Security 2007 is introducing new features like Anti-Phishing toolbar and PC2Mobile Scan.

Quick Heal Total Security 2008 is a 9-in-1 protection for pc that includes Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Firewall, Anti-Spam, Anti-Phishing, AntiRootkit, Data Theft Protection, Privacy Protection and PC2Mobile Scan.

With Total Security 2008 Quick Heal is introducing world’s first PC-to-Mobile Scan. With this feature one can scan mobile phones, PDAs and smart phones from the PC.

This kind of feature is being introduced for the first time which can scan and clean mobile phones by connecting it to the PC or laptop using Bluetooth or USB cable. This feature supports scanning of more than 250 various models of mobile phone.

This includes mobile phones from vendors like Nokia, Sony Ericson, Motorola, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Philips, O2, IMate. Support for new mobile phone models will be regularly added and upgrade will be provided to all the registered users.

Kailash Katkar, CEO of Quick Heal Technologies explains “With PC2Mobile Scan a patent pending technology Quick Heal users will be having added advantage of scanning and cleaning their mobile phones, PDAs and Smartphones. Users will no longer need to send their mobile phones to the services center or a workshop for cleaning the infection.”

Quick Heal Total Security 2008 is also introducing AntiPhishing tool bar for Internet Explorer. Anti-Phishing toolbar protects against phishing attacks by automatically filtering all accessed web pages for fraud attempts as the user surfs the internet. It prevents identity theft by blocking phishing websites.

All the existing Quick Heal 2007 subscribers will be getting free upgrade to respective Quick Heal 2008 product. New customers are entitled to receive definition updates as well as product upgrades as and when they are available during their subscription period.
