Mizuno, a leader in running footwear and apparel technology, has announced the use of a new thermoplastic elastomer range for the Wave Technology plates in four models of high performance running shoes set to debut in 2009. This new thermoplastic elastomer range named Pebax Rnew, is made from renewable resources, castor oil, and contributes to global warming reduction.The Pebax Rnew will be utilized in both men’s and women’s models of the Mizuno Wave Rider 12, Wave Inspire 5, Wave Creation 10, and Wave Nirvana 5.
To mark the event, Arkema has joined forces with Mizuno to launch a new on-line competition on pebaxpowered.com, a website dedicated to sports applications.
Websurfers who are also running fans are invited to visit the website to check out the unique properties of the Pebax Rnew brand, a high-tech plastic used in sports equipment and try to win one of 60 pairs of Mizuno Wave Rider 12.
In the sports footwear market, Pebax combines its image with leading brands in baseball, basketball and running shoes, and in soccer, rugby, American football and ski boots.
