Maple Lake Ltd has announced that Mark Stone, who has served as managing director of the company’s United Kingdom and European operations since December 2009, has been promoted to chief executive officer. The company made additional changes, including naming Stuart Aldridge as chief marketing officer.
“We chose to name Mark Stone as CEO because of his extraordinary and adept skills to run a global organisation,” said Stuart Aldridge, who has served as Maple Lake CEO since the company’s formation in 2000. “By changing his role to CEO leverages our collective strengths to grow our business worldwide and best serve our clients.” Since January 2010, Maple Lake has signed Levi Strauss & Co. and the adidas Group, among others.
Stone joined Maple Lake in 2009 as its U.K managing director. He was—and remains—based in the company’s Leicester, U.K., office. He plans active participation and presence at the company’s Markham, Ontario, headquarters as well. Stone’s experience includes retail and technology. He has served in senior positions at IT companies and retailers, including Compass Software (now part of Torex Retail), Next, Sears and Sports Division. He also managed numerous IT Projects for Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser and Nike, among others.
